Static Signal Privacy Policy

Static Signal game/application behavior

Static Signal is designed as an offline single-player game. During normal gameplay, Smith & Witch Studios does not require a Smith & Witch account and does not intentionally collect or transmit personal information from the game.

The current product design does not include advertising, in-app purchases, multiplayer, built-in analytics or telemetry, a Smith & Witch crash-reporting service, cloud saves, or runtime generative-AI services. No third-party advertising, analytics, account, or crash-reporting SDK is intentionally integrated into the game.

Local saves and settings

Static Signal may store game progress, choices, and settings locally on the device so that gameplay and preferences can be resumed. Smith & Witch Studios does not operate a cloud-save account system for Static Signal. Device or operating-system backup features may separately copy application data according to the user's platform settings and the platform provider's policies.

Google Play, itch.io, Android, and operating-system services

If you obtain Static Signal through Google Play, itch.io, or another distribution platform, that platform may independently process information associated with downloads, purchases, accounts, devices, security, diagnostics, or store activity under its own privacy terms. Android and device manufacturers may also process system-level diagnostic or backup information. Smith & Witch Studios does not control those platform-level practices.

Smith & Witch Studios website

The current Smith & Witch Studios website is a static website. It does not currently provide user accounts, a contact form, advertising, or third-party marketing analytics, and it does not intentionally set nonessential tracking cookies.

The site is hosted through Cloudflare Pages. Like other web-hosting and security providers, Cloudflare may process ordinary network and request information such as IP addresses, traffic-routing data, request metadata, security information, and technical diagnostics in order to deliver, protect, and operate the website. Smith & Witch Studios may have access to aggregate or operational traffic information provided by the hosting platform.

Optional communications and support

If you choose to contact Smith & Witch Studios for support, privacy questions, or other communications, we may receive the information you voluntarily provide, such as your email address, device or platform details, game version, screenshots, and the contents of your message. We use that information only to respond to the request, investigate the reported issue, protect the service, or maintain appropriate business records.

Why information may be used

Information voluntarily submitted for support may be used to answer questions, diagnose bugs, investigate Android compatibility issues, improve Static Signal, prevent abuse, and document resolution of support or privacy requests. Hosting-provider technical information may be processed for site delivery, reliability, and security.

Retention and deletion

Local Static Signal saves and settings remain on the player's device unless removed through the game, device, or operating-system controls available to the player. Support communications are retained only as long as reasonably needed to respond, investigate the issue, maintain necessary business records, or meet legal obligations. Hosting-provider logs and network data are retained according to the applicable provider's systems and policies.

Children's privacy

Static Signal is not designed as a service for collecting information from children. The game does not require an account or intentionally collect personal information during normal gameplay. The final Google Play target-audience and content-rating declarations are handled separately in Play Console and must remain consistent with the released game and this policy.

Security

Smith & Witch Studios limits the game's network-dependent features by design and does not operate a Static Signal account database. For website and support information, we use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information involved, while recognizing that no Internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Static Signal, its distribution, the website, or applicable privacy practices change. Material updates will be published at this same URL with a revised effective date. The policy in effect at this URL is the version that applies to the current public release unless otherwise stated.
